- Son of the Most High, given the throne of His father David, reign over the house of Jacob forever
-definitely greater than John the Baptist; but was not that great when he was born

- can't fully explain the greatness of God

a. perfection of his nature

- God-man
b. greatness of Christ's offices
- only God can fulfill it alone
c. splendor of his achievements

- defeated death and bringing life

d. merits he disposed for his people
e. way he meets our needs
- Jesus has great supplies.
f. preparing a place for His people
v. Jn. 14:2
* Christmas is great because Christ himself came to man.
- to redeem us and take to Heaven.
* Christ's greatness will soon appear.
- Now is nightime; parable of the virgins.
v. Phil.2:9-11
- Christ will gather all his elect.
* Let us make God great this Christmas.
- trust him
- long for him
- hunger for him
